This poignant workshop moment came as a grandma saw herself in my LEGO paj ntaub. In fleeing Laos, she floated across the Meekong River with bamboo under her arms, carrying her 3-year-old. She said 100 of them arrived, and only 3 made it across.
Our elders are stronger than we could ever imagine. It’s an honor to share space with them.
